🛡 Safe Play First

Responsible Gambling

At iPAYUNG, your wellbeing comes before any wager. This page explains our tools, policies, and resources to help every Malaysian player stay in control.

🔞  21+ ONLY — iPAYUNG is strictly for adults
Our Commitment

Gambling Should Be Entertainment

For the vast majority of players in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Penang, and across Malaysia, betting on sports like the EPL or Liga Super Malaysia, or enjoying a live baccarat session, is a straightforward form of entertainment — exciting, social, and well within their control. iPAYUNG is built to serve those players well.

But we also recognise that gambling, for some people, can shift from entertainment into something more complicated. Problem gambling does not always look dramatic — it can develop gradually, often without the player fully noticing, until it begins to affect their finances, relationships, and overall mental health. This is why responsible gambling is not a checkbox at iPAYUNG — it is a core operating principle built into the platform from day one.

Our responsible gambling framework includes strict age verification, a comprehensive set of player protection tools, trained support staff, and clear signposting to external help resources. We expect every player to engage with the platform honestly — and we commit to doing the same in return.

⚠️

Gambling is not a way to make money. The house always holds a statistical edge over time. Never gamble with funds you need for essential expenses such as rent, food, bills, or family commitments. If you feel your gambling is out of control, our tools and support resources are here to help — right now.

Player Protection Tools

All of the following tools are free, available immediately, and accessible from your Account Settings or by contacting our support team via live chat.

Deposit Limits

Set a hard cap on the total amount you can deposit into your iPAYUNG account over any given period — daily, weekly, or monthly. Choose any MYR amount that suits your budget. Limit reductions take effect immediately. Increases require a mandatory 24-hour cooling period to prevent impulsive decisions.

Immediate Effect
Loss Limits

Define the maximum net loss you are comfortable incurring over a daily, weekly, or monthly period. Once your loss limit is reached, you will be unable to place further wagers for the remainder of that period, regardless of your available balance. This is one of the most effective tools for preventing chasing behaviour.

Automatic Halt
Session Time Limits

Set a maximum session duration — 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours — after which you will receive a prominent on-screen alert reminding you how long you have been playing and prompting you to take a break. You can optionally configure the platform to log you out automatically when your session limit is reached.

Reality Check
Cool-Off Periods

Take a structured break from gambling without permanently closing your account. Cool-off periods range from 24 hours to 6 weeks. During a cool-off, your account is suspended — you cannot log in, deposit, or wager. Promotional emails are also paused. You can re-activate your account when the cool-off period expires.

24hr to 6 Weeks
Self-Exclusion

If you feel you need to stop gambling entirely, self-exclusion permanently removes your access to iPAYUNG for a minimum period of 6 months. During self-exclusion you cannot create a new account. Self-exclusion requests are processed within one hour of submission and are irrevocable for the agreed exclusion period.

Permanent Option
Marketing Opt-Out

Stop receiving promotional emails, bonus notifications, and SMS offers at any time by updating your communication preferences in Account Settings or by requesting this through our live chat. Opting out of marketing does not affect essential account communications such as security alerts and transaction confirmations.

How to Self-Exclude

Requesting self-exclusion at iPAYUNG is a straightforward process. It can be done at any time — day or night — through two channels: Account Settings or our live chat support team.

Once submitted, self-exclusion cannot be reversed before the agreed minimum exclusion period. Please consider using a cool-off period first if you are unsure whether permanent exclusion is what you need right now.

1
Log In to Your iPAYUNG Account

Access the Platform from any device. If you are in a state where logging in feels difficult, you can contact our live chat support directly — they will initiate the process for you after verifying your identity.

2
Navigate to Account Settings → Responsible Gambling

Find the Responsible Gambling section within your account settings. Here you will find all protection tools, including deposit limits, cool-off options, and the self-exclusion request form.

3
Select Self-Exclusion and Choose Your Duration

Choose your exclusion period — minimum 6 months, up to permanent exclusion. Consider your situation carefully. If you are unsure, our trained responsible gambling support staff can help you choose the right option.

4
Confirm Your Request

Confirm your identity and submit the request. Your account will be suspended within one hour. You will receive a confirmation email, and all marketing communications will be immediately stopped.

5
Seek Additional Support If Needed

Self-exclusion from iPAYUNG is a positive step, but we also encourage you to consider registering with national self-exclusion schemes and reaching out to professional support organisations listed in the section below. Recovery is stronger with professional support alongside platform-level tools.

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can develop gradually and isn't always obvious. If you recognise any of the following patterns — in yourself or someone you care about — it may be time to seek support.

1
Chasing Losses

Placing larger or more frequent bets than planned in an attempt to recover money lost in previous sessions. This is one of the clearest early signs of a problematic relationship with gambling.

2
Gambling With Essential Funds

Using money needed for rent, food, bills, or other necessary expenses to fund gambling activity. Withdrawing funds from savings or retirement accounts to gamble.

3
Inability to Stop

Repeated unsuccessful attempts to cut back or stop gambling. Feeling restless, irritable, or anxious when not gambling, or when attempting to reduce activity.

4
Hiding Gambling Activity

Lying to family members, partners, or friends about the amount of time or money spent gambling. Hiding bank statements, transaction records, or devices to conceal activity.

5
Preoccupation With Gambling

Spending large amounts of time thinking about gambling — planning next sessions, calculating odds, reliving past wins or losses — even when doing other activities.

6
Borrowing to Gamble

Borrowing money from friends, family, or financial institutions — including taking cash advances on credit cards — specifically to fund gambling activity.

7
Gambling Affecting Relationships

Gambling is causing tension, arguments, or breakdown in personal or professional relationships. Neglecting family responsibilities, social commitments, or work duties because of gambling.

8
Escalating Stakes

Needing to bet progressively larger amounts to achieve the same level of excitement or emotional satisfaction that smaller bets once provided.

9
Gambling to Cope

Using gambling as a primary way to escape stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness, or other emotional difficulties rather than as a form of entertainment.

Quick Self-Assessment

This is not a clinical diagnostic tool — it is a reflection prompt. Ask yourself honestly whether any of these statements apply to you right now.

In the past 30 days, have you…

…spent more money on gambling than you originally planned, on more than two occasions?

…placed bets to try to win back money you had already lost in a previous session?

…felt anxious, irritable, or restless when you were unable to gamble or had to cut a session short?

…missed work, family time, or other responsibilities because of time spent gambling?

…been dishonest with anyone close to you about how much you have gambled or spent?

…used gambling as your primary way to relax, escape problems, or improve your mood?

…felt that you needed to gamble with larger amounts to get the same feeling as before?

If you answered yes to two or more of these questions, we encourage you to speak with someone. Consider activating one of the responsible gambling tools on this page, or reaching out to a support organisation listed below. There is no shame in recognising a problem and taking action — it is the responsible and courageous thing to do.

Our Promise

What iPAYUNG Commits To

Responsible gambling is not something iPAYUNG treats as a compliance exercise. These are the specific, operational commitments we hold ourselves to every day — and that every Malaysian player on our platform can expect from us.

We actively train our support staff to identify early warning signs of problem gambling. We monitor account behaviour for patterns that may indicate harm. And we act — not just when a player asks us to, but proactively when we see something that concerns us.

21+ Strict Age Enforcement

We verify the age of every account holder. Accounts found to belong to individuals under 21 are immediately and permanently closed. We cooperate with parents and guardians who report underage access.

Active Monitoring for At-Risk Behaviour

Our responsible gambling team monitors account activity for behavioural patterns associated with problem gambling — including rapidly escalating stakes, chasing patterns, and unusually long sessions — and may proactively reach out to affected players.

Prominent, Accessible Tools

Our responsible gambling tools are not hidden in obscure menus. They are prominently featured in Account Settings and accessible via live chat at any time. We will never discourage a player from using these tools.

No Aggressive Marketing to Vulnerable Players

Players who have activated a responsible gambling tool, who are on a cool-off period, or who have recently self-excluded will not receive promotional marketing communications from iPAYUNG. Period.

Right to Refuse Service

iPAYUNG reserves the right to refuse service, close accounts, or restrict access where we believe a player may be experiencing gambling-related harm — even without a formal request from the player themselves.

Play Smart. Play Safe. 🛡

Gambling at iPAYUNG should always be fun, social, and within your means. If you ever feel it becoming anything else, our tools and team are here for you — 24 hours a day.

Strictly for players aged 21 and above. Gambling involves risk. Please play responsibly and within your means.
